The civil disturbance erupted in Bichi Local Government Area on
Thursday, when an Igbo man was accused of blasphemy on the cloth sewed
by the tailor and some residents went on rampage and this reportedly led
to the death of four people.
15 shops and one church were also alleged to have been razed down.
Meanwhile, the command claimed that 22 suspects were arrested as
normalcy has been restored at Bichi town, adding that “residents are
going about their normal businesses without any hindrance as patrol has
been intensified.”
“The command will not relent in its effort to investigate the root of
the inferno and whoever is involved will be arrested and be made to
face the wrath of the law accordingly” stated the police spokesperson.
“People are therefore called to continue to live in peace and pay due
respect to each other’s way of life without any form of provocation”
the statement concluded.
We need serious prayers and returning to God in this our nation.
