Attack on Kano police van leaves two injured

At least two police officers were injured following an attack on a patrol van at Hotoron Eastern bye pass in Kano state, North West Nigeria.
Eyewitness told Channels Television that a golf vehicle following the police patrol team threw an explosive which hit the van and explode.
“I saw them evacuating the officers but I don’t know if they dead, but from what happened here they may hardly survive.”
An eyewitness also said the explosion was followed by an exchange of gunshot with the mobile police men and suspected gunmen.
“They sent us out of our houses with heavy gunshots, for now the gun shot has stopped but movement around the area is highly restricted”
Confirming the incident in a short press statement signed by the Kano State Police Public Relations Officer Magaji Musa Majiya “claimed there was no injury or loss of life in the attack”.
The statement also says that after a coordinated search operation “eight people, suspected in connection to the attack were arrested and that investigation is ongoing to arrest their accomplices.”
