How Police Foiled Terrorist Attack In Niger

The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 7, which comprises the FCT, Niger and Kaduna States, AIG Suleiman Abba has revealed how operatives of the  zone foiled an attempt by a terrorist sect to carry out an attack in Niger state.
Abba made the disclosure yesterday during a presentation of cheques to police officers who were injured and the family of officers who lost their lives in the course of duty.
While fielding questions from journalists on activities of the zone at the zonal headquarters in Abuja, the AIG said police in Niger state had intercepted members of a terrorist cell that planned to operate in Minna and we were able to get them arrested. He said the officers dispossessed the suspects of their items of operation before they could carry out their heinous criminal activity.
“We have arrested all categories of criminals. The results are there for you to see. At least the level of security and safety has improved not only in the FCT but in Niger and Kaduna. “This is as a result of not only the strategy that we have put in place but also the hard work of officers and men of the various commands who have made diligent efforts in collaboration with members of the public to make sure that crime was brought to the barest minimum.
