SENATE President David Mark has reaffirmed his fight against the legalisation of abortion and homosexuality in the country.
He stated this on Sunday in Abuja at the first plenary of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN).
Senator Mark stated that the Senate was at the forefront of fighting the actualisation of laws for abortion and homosexuality.
Speaking at the event, President of the CBCN, Bishop Ignatius
Kaigama, said that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) was a
veritable tool for the unity of Christians in the country and that the
Catholic’s call for dialogue in the association should not be unscrewed
by the media.
He called on the media to put restraint on its reportage and not set Christians against one another.
Bishop Kaigama also stated that the Catholic Church was worried about
the contents of videos produced in the country, which showcase  Nigeria
 as a highly diabolical society.
He stated that Christians and Muslims must come together to defend
the dignity of marriage on the heels of the purported bills of abortion
and homosexuality in the National Assembly.
Also speaking at the event, the Apostolic Nuncion to Nigeria,
Arch-Bishop Augustine Kasujja, congratulated Nigeria on its success at
the African Cup of Nations.
